The state of Mississippi has designated Vicksburg-Warren County as a Certified Retirement City after an intensive three-month screening process conducted by Hometown Mississippi Retirement, the state's official retiree attraction program. This is largely due to affordable cost of living, low taxes, quality medical care, recreation, educational and cultural opportunities, and most importantly - a warm, welcoming community.
